Hubitat differs from many home automation solutions in that, although it can reach out to and integrate with public cloud services such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home Assistant, all functions can be executed in an off-grid, Internet disconnected mode of operation.
This makes for a much faster and more reliable home automation experience. Since the applications and device handlers can be extended by the user community, there is an ever expanding functionality to control both very new and very old devices that many other solutions simply do not support.
